Got Social Anxiety?

Article 8 Articles 1

Social Anxiety is nothing more than a byproduct of insecurity and poor self-worth. In doing the feeling work offered in this course, a lot of your fear about being around others will diminish, because when you’ve gotten more comfortable hanging out with You and your own facets and feelings, you’ll start accepting that others see you more positively too!

Feeling less anxious around others is a natural byproduct of becoming more at ease in your body, and learning to get acquainted with and endure various emotions (parts of the Self) you’ve tried to run from or avoid lifelong.

You are learning in this video how to be inside You, while observing others’ behaviors and mannerisms (in short, people-watching). This helps take your focus off how you think everybody else is perceiving and judging you~ which is only presumption because of how poorly you feel about yourself! (It’s not true that others see you as you see yourself, and it’s not happening).

Get yourself a decent pair of dark sunglasses, and start paying attention to how couples interact (or don’t) with each other. Notice people of all ages, and imagine what their life might be like from the clothes or jewelry they wear or the car they drive. Do they look happy, bored, sad or kinda flatlined?

When you see a couple sharing a meal together, is one on their phone a lot, while the other’s being ignored? Have your attention going outward, not bouncing back on you, and some fun with this!

If you have to go to a gathering, try to remember to “fake it till you make it.” In short, pretend you feel okay about yourself. Nobody sees you as YOU see you, so relax. You don’t have to put on a happy face, or perform. Just show up, try to relax and be You~ whatever that feels like in the moment.
